New Breast Cup : Freemie Cup Collection Review

salam mothers.

sharing a review on my new breast cup for my breastpump - the famous (famous or not, im not sure ok) Freemie Cup Collection.

say YAZZZZZZ.

on a scale of 1 to 10 - ill give it a 7.

if you read my blog prior, you will know that i am using Cimilre F1 pump + Cimilre handsfree breast cup to pump while im at work. cause y'all know, im always on the go at work (note : i dont work normal office hours nor do i have a desk. probably if you read my previous entry before becoming a mother, you will probably guess whats my job lol. but nobody cares. youre here to read on my review, right? hehe.)

okay back to the subject. i decided to buy the Freemie Collection Cup because

  1. my Cimilre handsfree cup had cracks (both of it), as they fell down from my kitchen counter. the material is kinda thin (i just realise it). but i still can use it (u just slide it in your bra), but it doesnt really fit together because the circumference or diameter is not fixed. i had moments where the cup dislodged and it interferes with my movements / jobs etc.
  2. hence, i NEEDED another handsfree breast cup. so the choice is either i buy another pair of the Cimilre or i buy the Freemie.
since im still curious with Freemie Cup. i bought it instead. BASICALLY ITS A GAMBLE because i tried it ONCE during my visit to breastpump shop when i bought my breast pump (pump on the go sg petani) but during that time im using the original valve. so, NO milk came out even after approx few mins of pumping. thats why i didnt buy it in the first place.

so, ive been using the Freemie for about 3 to 4 weeks now.

basically my gear to work - i look like i want to go on a camping with my cooler bag (i use the VCOOL bag, which is free with purchase when i purchased my breastpump last time. i wanted to buy  other breastmilk storage bag, but its just a waste of money by having too many bags. so id figure ill use this bag till the very end, and if needed then ill buy another bag. i work long hours, but i have pantry with fridge at work place. so most of the time during my oncalls, id just put my milk in the fridge (freezer section) )

my cimilre f1 - i usually use this at home. no need to hide all sorts. i just can sit eating on the table, or watch tv while holding my breast pump.

* apparently i deleted my FREEMIE CUP PHOTO, its not in my laptop. lol. you can go to my ig : maliabjg to see the photo if you'd like.

best use with?

i only tried with my padded singlet (good fit), nursing bra (good fit), non wired bra (uhmm nah), wired bra (uhmm nah), half cup bra (NAHHH). sports bra - good fit.

okay, your breast is relatively full because youre a lactating mom. imagine inserting another breast cup thats bigger than your fist. so you definitely need a stretchable material for your bra. i had few bras that are loose when im not using my breast cup. itll be fit to the body when i insert the breast cup. *sadtruth*

half cup bra - NO NO NO NO. i had moments where my breast cup basically dislodged during my teaching session with my superior (i basically had to hold my breast infront of my colleagues. Allahu. thank god for tudung bawal bidang 50, they did not notice me grab hold of my breast. imagine if they notice. hmm malu dalam diam sebentar)

padded singlet is the best - for me. i had uniqlo's padded singlets and they fits perfectly, did not move much and its material is elastic and stretchable. you can try buying it (it costs me RM40 for 1.. usual price is RM79.90, i bought the ones on sale)

capacity
1 cup according to the manual can sustained maximum of 8 oz. i never reach 8 oz la k - my milk supply is not up to that level. my max is 6 oz and i feel that around 5 oz, its better to pour your milk and store it.

storage
this is not my fav part. you have to remove your tube, and remove your breast cup slowly, gently, carefully so as not to spill them. and when you want to store it into your storage bottle / plastic - be meticulous. i ALWAYS SPILL my breastmilk *i wanted to cry everytime i spill them*.
spillage is one of the problems most people with Freemie collection cup faced. because of the shape of the cup itself. its like a bowl. try pouring your kuah maggi kari into a bottle, see how much you spill from that bowl.
its way different than Cimilre, this is for sure. with Cimilre you store directly in your bottle as the cup is attached to the bottle. just remove it and put on your cap and youre done.
with Freemie, you have to pour from the cup into the storage bottle manually.

parts
freemie basically has 4 parts to wash. minimal. which i love love love love. shorter time to wash and dry. and i didnt use the original valve. im using my medela valve instead (better yield).
the tubings are actually long - so you can cut them according to your preference.
not the best tubings - cause if you move alot etc. itll dislodge, so you have to make sure its in placed. i read a blog of freemie user prior, she actually cellotape the tubings and connectors so they wont dilodged and it wont interrupt the pumping session.

price
i bought from pumponthego.com - rm399, pricey but i trust the company. you can try other shopping sites like lazada or shopee, ig sellers, fb sellers - i saw before, cheaper price even. lowest i found was 360+.

i think i covered most of the aspects required on the Freemie Collection Cup - handsfree breast cup.

i wish my review helps in case youre looking for a handsfree breast cup. :)

p/s : please pray that i can sustain expressing breast milk (EBM) for my child. insyaAllah.
baby is turning 9 months this january. syukur alhamdulillah for the moments where i can breastfeed, breastpump despite my hectic schedule.

can you spot my little one?

Review : Cimilre Handsfree Breast Shield

Assalamualaikum & hi!

finally, i have the time to do a review on the Cimilre Handsfree Breast Shield. after using them for 3 weeks :)

* photo taken from Cimilre website * im just too lazy to snap my own. but you can scroll to my ig : maliabjg (i post more often in ig)

Price : RM109-110 (i bought 1 first, to try them and will buy 2nd one IF it suits me. dont want to spend so much and ended up not using these gears right? and i LIKE them. so my first breast shield is from fabulousmom.com , and i bought my 2nd one from pumponthego.com)

here's how the box look like (im too lazy so im just gonna screenshot from my ig hehe)

hardware : its easy to clean. i usually wash with soap first with warm water (sometimes just normal temperature tap water) , and then ill soaked them in my Pureen steriliser water (you know the blue box with white tablet), and i wipe them dry when i want to assemble them. im being extra cautious because i had an incident where my milk is spoilt (didnt wash my parts properly. and it made me feel upset throwing my precious liquid gold)

its easy to put on inside our bra. ive tried with a normal wired bra, with a nursing bra, singlet with padded bra (sports bra not yet, cause idk where is my sports bra lol).
so far, i like it best when im using my singlet with padded bra. i want to experiment by using a larger size cup. because when using it with my regular (my size) bra, i felt like the breast shield is stretching the bra - and making them loose easily. *bra aint cheap these days ok*

visual : yes i'd get the question "are your breast engorged?" or statement like "your breast is so full" or "you look so voluptuous" whenever im wearing the breastshield. but i have supportive colleagues - and most of them knew that im a pumping mother - just by looking at my tube peeking out from my sling bag :s that cant be helped. i cant be shy because im pumping my breastmilk for my baby. so ill just tell people ahead that yeap im pumping for my baby. and most will give positive feedback on that. alhamdulillah. it made me feel more motivated to continue.
my clothes? i usually wear loose clothes (button blouse, or wide blouse, sometimes baju kurung) so i wont look so voluptuous and i'd prefer wearing tudung bawal. im stocking up on my aidijuma bawal, because its not sheer, and its 50 inch wide, it hid my breastshield well. i liked instant shawls, but they cant seem to hide my HUGE breast shield well. :o

so whats with this medela valve and membrane?

well, i modified my breast shield abit. im using the cimilre handsfree breastshield + medela valve and membrane - to get a better yield. INDEED. it gave me good result.
i can pump 5 oz in a shorter time compared to using cimilre's original valve. you can try it if you want to. too bad i cant use medela pump though (medela has a good long life span). my cimilre f1 well, if you read my review. the battery doesnt last long asdfghjkl.

Review : Cimilre F1 breastpump

Assalamualaikum & hi!

yes, big news : ive reach motherhood - achievement unlocked. :)

took advanced maternal leave at 38weeks - and my baby decided to stay longer in utero lol.

alhamdulillah all went well. induced and delivered spontaneous vaginal delivery to a healthy baby boy.

so like most working moms (stay at home moms too have breastpump k)- i too bought myself a breastpump to pump milk for my baby. going back to work this monday :/ (mixed feelings of leaving my baby at home and worried my hectic schedule will disrupt my milk supply. really praying hard for consistent and enough milk)

so.. back to the title.. im reviewing the CIMILRE F1 BREAST PUMP (this is my 2nd pump tbh. 1st pump was Autumnz Serene and hell it was painful, and my yield was max 2 oz & it tanked up my supply, posssibly by damaging my milk ducts *sigh*). a KOREAN product.

retailed at RM500+ i bought the pump from Pump On The Go Sg Petani branch.
it is a double breast pump, with breast shield size 30mm, lesser parts to wash and light pump. *yay*
it has a 5 level massage, with 10 level expression. (believe me, i only reach level 4. not more than that. apparently i have a sensitve nipple :s)

the suction? it is a soft suction. the massage mode is similar to my baby's suckling. so i like it very much. most of the time im only pumping with MASSAGE mode only. on average, my yield is about 3oz for 10-20mins (depending on the time of pumping & my nutrition). im satisfied - cause i know i still have alot more. i dont really pump till the minimal drop. i stick to the 10 mins /20 mins regimen or when my nipple starts to feel pain.
you can buy silicon inserts to make the suction more softer, and lesser pain - but i tried it on and without : my verdict is its still the same. no difference.

the setback i feel on this CIMILRE F1 is - the battery life. its not that long lasting. and it will automatically off itself when it hit 30 minutes of life. and the breast shield, has a narrow space to clean with.

the staff at pump on the go told me that the CIMILRE F1 is a contender for SPECTRA 9. i tried the spectra 9, but can only go to level 2 on expression mode - the suction is stronger than cimilre and caused me pain. (save me my money cause i thought of getting spectra too lol)

so yes, im happy with my CIMILRE F1. i ordered a handsfree breast shield (still waiting for the item to arrive) and will report on it later. im really really hoping and praying that it can pump and collect my breast milk similar as to the traditional breast shield. *really need it to work*.

i tried on the famous FREEMIE COLLECTION CUPS - and nahhhhhh. suction is soft, and it only produces sounds of 'blub blub' and very minimal milk. and costs about RM399 at pump on the go. its nice that it can be put inside your bra and handsfree and you can work freely.

i hope my review on this CIMILRE F1 pump will help you mommies out there!
thanks for dropping by :)
