my miserable place.

i have decided to pour down my thoughts and feelings into a lifeless laptop. writing to an object is a better option compared to sharing to a person.
i am doing this to alleviate the tormented feelings i have been having since i moved into this new pithole. my miserable place i shall name it.

i, a small town girl - left the comfort of my home, family, and son. left my favorite department - something that i have passion in.
with HOPES as high as our klcc building - to REBUILD MY FAMILY LIFE.
my plan was to get here, work 8-5, to be with my husband and also to bring my son with to live as a little family of 3 - TOGETHER. i wanted to achieve that WORK-LIFE BALANCE. i wanted to be a lawful wife, a caring mother and a hardworking worker, and i plan to study during my weekend - to get my papers on my field of interest.

a plan that turned into dust.

precisely. thats what happened. i even prepared a LENGTHY LETTER to the respectable organization of my work line - in hopes that i would be placed in a smaller place, with no oncall hours. explaining that i have a kid, my husband and i are foreign to this land, with no family support. plus, the fact that my husband works in SHIFT hours which will make it difficult for me to work with oncall system. AND TO NO AVAIL - IT IS DISREGARD.
reason? i will only be placed according to availability - and during my reporting duty, district hospital needs manpower most. and the fact that i have no papers to back me up to be put into a specified department.

and there i was - thrown into something that i myself didnt predict. like an open season - being a prey, lowest at the food chain.
boy i cried a river - fear of the unknown, mother's guilt, all sorts of emotions. mostly, negativity.
theres not even any bit of positivity i can find. even, being together with my husband doesnt provide solace (after quite some time of long distance relationship - one might think that hey, finally you are able to be with your partner. REJOICE! nope, not in this case)

i began to question my decision. why did i chose to transfer? why did i get myself into this mess?
life was much easier back at home.

almost 3 months here - and i am still battling with frequent bouts of adjustment. (thats what i told myself)

i wouldnt say depression - yet. i know, or i dont know. i wanted to cry for help - but i just couldnt bring myself, for fear that it would affect my future. affecting my licence to practice. stigma. gossips. so much things to be considered even when you think you need professional help.

trust me, i am battling with my inner self every single day. convincing myself - i am not crazy, i am strong like the rest - if they can do it, i can too, i will not let my guard down. it is just a phase.

then again

it is overbearing - burdened. up to a point when i started questioning what is the purpose of living like this? tormented. overworked. mentally and physically stressed. tremendous amount of guilt.

my miserable place - a place where i will never find happiness

BEST DIAPER in Malaysia - a diaper review from a cheapskate mom

salam & hi. wow i have not post an entry for SUCH a long time. maybe i will start writing soon when im done with my training (finishing in less than 2 weeks :p). im actually shocked to see the number of views in certain blogpost especially mommy related ones. glad that my writings can help mothers out there.*high five mummmies!*

so lets go direct to the title - you are here for comparison / review / opinion regarding best diaper in Malaysia. ive lived here (hot  very hot wet very wet season hello) the entire time since my baby boy is born - and he will turn 2 years in a few months.

DIAPERS DIAPERS DIAPERS. i shall say this is a MUST when it comes to a baby's need.
alhamdulillah, i am lucky that my son so far has no nappy rash to ANY brands that i put him on. really grateful for that. maybe the fact that i had his SUDOCREM nappy cream rash that act as a prophylaxis and also can treat if he has any (i would be lying if he never gets nappy rash - i remember he did had a bad one when we were travelling ~6-7 hrs in a plane =.=) ive tried on high and lows of diapers on him. however, there are some cult favourite of mine. :)

read on to find out what is my favourite.
i will list down the criteria for my search of finding THE BEST DIAPER for my baby. well only 2 by the way - im a reasonable mom :p. congrats future daughter in law *pats own back*

**disclaimer : all products are bought by myself - some received as samples

**photos of mine are watermarked (watermark la sangat haha), otherwise, from Google, thanks Google.

criteria list
1 star (poor. thank you next) - 2 star (not there yet) - 3 star (hmm) - 4 star (ok) -  5 star (superb)
1. absorbency vs leakage - sure thing every mom wants a super sucking diaper that will absorb everything and leaks nil. but we all know, that is impossible right

$ (cheap) - $$$$$ (expensive)
2. price - something that doesnt burn a hole in my wallet at the end of the month

1. Mamy Poko Extra Dry

used this Mamy Poko - when my son was a newborn. he was fully breastfed till 1 year +.
newborn poops alot, and pees alot - due to their bladder and rectum capacity is small.
ive experienced NO LEAKAGE, GOOD absorbency. there is a line in front that can show you the level of moisture / fullness of the diaper.  im only using for 1 week duration as i got free samples from the hospital where i delivered him (thank god for free samples right?)

absorbency vs leakage : 5 stars
price : $$$$

2. Drypers Wee Wee Dry

used this for quite some time for my son from size S to M to L - on and off, but i can say ive bought more than 5 packs. probably up to 10. good absorbency however prone to leaks (my son's butt is quite bootiful) - so it leaks upwards to his back. not from the sides of his groin. this is a good daytime diaper. i dont use it for night time. as it will LEAK.

absorbency vs leakage : 3 star
price : $$ (really affordable especially when it is on promo)

3. Drypers Touch

this by far is my cult favourite - especially at night. EXCELLENT ABSORBENCYNEVER LEAKS. been using from size M to L (currently still using). it is slightly thicker, however is soft to touch. price wise - pricey when its not on promo. so i make sure to stock up alot when i get a good price. and the problem with where i live, is that this drypers touch is difficult to find. only certain supermarket has it, and even if they do. it is in a small packaging - which when you calculate, more expensive to buy 2 of the small packaging compared to the jumbo packaging.

absorbency vs leakage : 5 stars
price : $$$$ (i always make sure to buy during promo hehe)

4. Pet Pet DayNight Pants

used this from size M to L. had experience of leakage especially at night. it is not too thick nor too slim - which is great when you're travelling / just going out for awhile - save the space. price is also competitive - when it has promo. it is a U shaped diaper - which helps reduce leakage. size is abit different - the L seems small for my son. doesnt really strike any significance. otherwise, not really a fan of this. i tried it out for 2-3 jumbo packaging (im not 100% sure if they have a small packaging though - see how much i dont care about this brand. cos it doesnt strike out among others.

absorbency vs leakage : 3 stars
price : 4 stars

5. Whopee Pants

used from size M to L. this is my regular diaper for my baby. especially daytime use (also used at night when i ran out of my night time diapers).  great absorbency. seldom leaks - not saying that it is 100% leak proof. the problem with pant type diapers is when it is full & u carry your child - the urine leaks through his groin area from the pressure of his butt onto your arm. that is why i am not really a big fan of pant type, but for easy application, pant form is really helpful. you dont expect your 18 months old to lie down and stay still waiting for you to strap on their diaper - all they want to do is move around. otherwise for night usage, i seldom get leakage - probably 1/10.

absorbency vs leakage : 4 star
price : $$$

6. Whopee

used from size M to L. also my regular diaper - but less frequent compared to my cult favourite (if you read this - you must have known what is my cult fave hehe). the previous packaging diaper quality is WAY BETTER compared to the CURRENT ones. i noticed that it was thicker , but now slimmer. the thicker diaper was MUCH BETTER in absorbency and less leakage. the current one - leakage almost every night! i wonder why do they change it though. finishing my current pack - then i am never buying again. NEVER.

absorbency vs leakage : from 4 stars DOWN to 1 star
price : $$$

7. Offspring Natural

this is an organic diaper. CUTE DESIGNS or shall i say FASHION - if you want to showcase your child's diaper - this brand surely is eye catching. not available from supermarkets in my place - unless you live in Kuala Lumpur (they are available at Bens Independent Grocer and Robinsons). otherwise you have to get this online. via shopee / their official website - you can just search it on Google.  this diaper slim. i actually used my nephew's diaper for my son - when i was on vacation and my son's diaper is out of stock that time - when we were leaving and about to fly home (from the airport to home - took him about 4-5 hours of usage), and im amazed with the absorbency and no leaks. you know travel is such a hassle. i always have to carry him with me and walking, sitting and all that movements. so i decided to purchase 1 package for him to try on recently.
my take on this is - it is a slim diaper, im surprised the L size is actually big, it can even fit my 22kg nephew (one obese child i tell you) nicely. surprised surprised.

great absorbency and no leakage. NIL. even when my son poops extensively huge amount of stool - it doesnt leak.

absorbency vs leakage : 5 stars
price : $$$$$

in short - my cult fave is the Drypers Touch (NIGHT USE), and the Whopee Pants (DAYTIME USE). combining both - $ wise is reasonable. and i always make sure to buy during promo period *cheapskate*.

i would consider offspring as a new fave - but due to logistic issue requiring shipping. well, thats a big no for me. i needed diaper that i can grab from the supermarket anytime.

offline vs online purchase - i noticed it is way cheaper buying online. however due to my location in East - adding the shipping expenditure. the cumulative price becomes similar if purchased offline / maybe slightly expensive.
hence - my diapers are all purchased from the local supermarket. (Except for the offspring natural. i bought it online with free shipping *wink*)

i hope these review helps mom's out there - although i shall remind that every baby is different from the other. experimenting with diaper - you must be aware of the complication which is NAPPY RASH. some are so bad - that it requires medical attention (ive seen babies with PINK GROINS FROM ALL THE RASHES. pity those tiny munchkins). so mommies,  be safe!

till then. bye~
